Are you interested in receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine?
Based on availability, and guidance from the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services (MO DHSS) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Taney County Health Department will be providing/facilitating the administration of COVID-19 vaccine based on a predetermined tier system. Individuals will be identified to receive the vaccine based on risk status and occupation.
Per the guidance provided by the CDC, COVID-19 vaccinations will not be provided to those under the age 12 for the Pfizer vaccine, and age 18 for the Moderna vaccine.
STATEMENT ON BOOSTER SHOTSOn Wednesday, August 18th, the CDC and HHS released a joint statement recommending a 3rd-dose COVID-19 booster to be given 8 months following a person’s 2nd shot. Currently, the 3rd-dose booster has not been approved by the FDA *for the general public.
TCHD learned about the new recommendation at the same time as the public. Please be patient as we await critical guidance documents from the CDC, FDA, and the State of Missouri so we can begin the planning process.
*Individuals that are immunocompromised are encouraged to reach out to their healthcare provider to get the COVID-19 Vaccine Booster before the general public.
