We offer many different programs and services aimed at improving and maintaining good

Show Me Healthy Women
The Show Me Health Women offers NO
COST clinical breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams, and pap smears.
You must live in Missouri, and meet age and income guidelines. Proof

Prenatal Case
Management
Case management offers one-on-one pregnancy counseling, education
and care coordination with postpartum home visits. Click here

Certified Breastfeeding Educator
A Certified Breastfeeding Educator is available to answer all your breastfeeding questions.

Children's Dental Clinic
Offers dental health treatment for children ages 4-18, who live in Taney County and actively participate in the Medicaid or MC+ program. For additional information or to schedule an appointment

Communicable Diseases
Diseases like hepatitis, measles, salmonella, tuberculosis
, brucellosis, rabies, meningitis and many more are reported to
our agency. We provide follow-up on contacts (family or friends)
of these patients, and provide some services for the patients themselves.

Community
Assessment
The health department takes a leadership role in assessing community
health needs and advocates for legislation that impacts public health.

Environmental Services
The health department provides inspections of day care facilities, schools,
restaurants, motels and hotels. Assists with communicable disease control
investigation and response involving food or water-borne illnesses. Also,
provides education for food handlers. To speak with an

Family Planning
This program offers comprehensive health evaluation including pap
smears and breast exams. Contraceptive counseling and birth control methods

Immunizations
The Health Department provides childhood immunizations free of charge. Adult immunizations are offered at our cost. We also offer Menomune vaccine which helps protect against the most common types of Bacterial Meningococal disease. This immunization is recommended for all college freshman. There are NO income guidelines. Flu shots are available in the Fall. Appointments are required for all immunizations. Please click here to find the location nearest to you.

* Effective the 2005-2006 school year-varicella (chicken pox) vaccine will be required at enrollment for licensed daycare or Kindergarten. If the child has had a documented case of chicken pox the vaccine will not be required.

Pregnancy Testing and Temporary Medicaid

Vital Records/Statistics
The Taney County Health Department offers same day printing of certified copies of
birth and death certificates.
Cost is $15.00 per certified copy of a birth certiicate and $13.00 for
their first copy of a death certificate and $10.00 for each additional
copy of a death certificate purchased at the same time.

WIC-Women, Infants
and Children
WIC is the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants
and Children. It is a health and nutrition program for individuals
who have special nutrition needs including: Pregnant Women/Teens,
Women/Teens who are breastfeeding, infants and children.

Women's Wellness Program
Comprehensive health screening, including a pap smear, breast exam and
physical for those who do not meet Family Planning or Breast and Cervical
Cancer Project guidelines. To schedule an appointment call (417)

Tuberculosis Program
Tuberculosis skin tests are available for people who have symptoms
or have been exposed to a confirmed case of tuberculosis. Follow-up
is done on active cases and TB medication can be obtained from the
health department (provided by the Missouri Department of Health)

Sexually Transmitted Disease and HIV/AIDS Screening
Confidential screening for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphllis are offered at
the health department. Treatment and education programs are available. HIV
screening along with pre and post-test counseling are also available. Free

our staff health educator, public health nurses and other staff members.

Blood Pressure Screenings
Blood pressure screenings are done at the health department free
of charge. A clinic is offered on Tuesdays from 8-12 at the Forsyth
office or on a walk-in basis at either office.
