Taney County Health Department provides a variety of Environmental Health Services for the community including inspecting of day care facilities, schools, restaurants, motels and hotels. We also assist with communicable disease control investigation and response involving food or water-borne illnesses.

Some of these services are contracted through the City of Branson.

Animal Control
The City of Branson has one Animal Control Officer certified at a Level III. He enforces all animal ordinances with in the city. Also takes care of any animal complaints and patrols regularly. He inspects any attractions or events involving animals to make sure it is all with in the required guidelines.

Daycares
All licensed day cares are inspected under the state guidelines. The environmental portions of the inspections include sanitation, health and safety.  Any questions involving day cares may be answered by calling the State Department of Health Child Care Department. State

Lodging
Lodging facilities, these include area motels, hotels, resorts, and bed and breakfasts.  These are inspected on a regular basis under state guide lines for health, safety, and sanitation. These inspections are for state licensure.

Water Quality Testing
The City of Branson’s lab is certified for well water testing. Tests can be run for total coliform and e-coli. Samples are accepted in our office Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  You may come by our office at any time to pick-up a sample kit.

Pest Control
The City of Branson Health Department  has an E.P.H.S.  Licensed to do mosquito control in city parks.  Information on pest control maybe answered by contacting the health department at (417) 337-8551 or one of the local pest control businesses. Pools
All public and semi-public water facilities, including designated swimming beaches, are inspected on a routine basis for water quality health and safety.  Regular test for total coliform and e-coli are performed.

Sewers - Septic
The Taney County Sewer District regulates septic systems in Taney County.  Any new or repair of an existing system must be permitted and inspected by the sewer district.  The Health Department assists the sewer district in the enforcement of the state and county ordinances.
