Disease Surveillance
The detection, rapid verification and response to disease threats in the community.
The Taney County Health Department closely monitors the level of infectious disease in the community. The health department routinely monitors information received through reported infectious diseases from local healthcare providers; reports from area sentinel sites such as schools, daycares, long-term care facilities and doctor’s offices; reports and complaints from members of the community; and health alerts, advisories and updates from the Missouri Department of Health, Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, World Health Organization, Pro-MedMail.org, and other agencies and organizations.
The Taney County Health Department provides updates to the community through updates and newsletters sent to various community groups and healthcare providers. The Newsletters below provide reported communicable diseases in the area and information on infectious disease threats to the community. These newsletters will be posted as released, so please check back often. If you would like to be added to our email list to receive newsletters and health advisories, or if your agency would like to become a surveillance site, please contact Robert Niezgoda at 417-334-4544.
