Congratulations! You have decided to add a new member to your family and provide a loving home to an animal in need. TheTaney County Animal Shelter has many friendly dogs and cats that are eager to find a loving home. Adopting a pet is exciting, but it is also a big decision that requires careful thought and consideration.

It is very important that you choose your pet carefully. Your personality and lifestyle should determine which pet would be the best match. Thoroughly research the breed, behavior and care of the animal you are interested in adopting to assure you make the best choice.

There are many things to consider such as:

Are you ready to make a commitment to a pet for its entire life?
Is your home and yard large enough to accommodate a pet?
Are you financially prepared for the costs of caring for a pet?
Are there any restrictions for having an animal where you live?

We also recommend that you learn a little about animal care and behavior before bringing home your new pet.

Includes updated shots and spay/neuter
