TCHD Now Offering ONLINE Food Safety Training!
An online food safety course from StateFoodSafety.com has been approved by the Taney County Health Department. Cost of this course is $10.00 per person. The course is available in English, Spanish, and Mandarin, and includes audio options for the lessons and the test.
When employees have completed and passed their test, they will be able to print a copy of their Food Handler’s card, as well as a copy for the establishment’s records. There will be a validation number on the card that the manager will be able to verify online at FoodHandlerVerification.com.
Group purchase option: Managers are allowed to purchase multiple courses for groups of more than 10 employees. Prepayment is required for groups of less than 25. For groups of 25 or more you may choose to be invoiced.
Managers choosing the group purchase option will be given a "company ID," which represents their establishment on our database. With this group ID, one-use "access codes" can be created which represent the payment for each course being purchased. Once the manager has their company ID and their access codes, they disburse one access code and a copy of the company ID to each employee requiring training. The employees will accesss the website on an individual basis and go through the registration process. Instead of entering their billing information, they enter the company ID and the access code in the "Group Purchase Codes" box. Once their order is complete, they will be directed to the course without payment. For questions about Group purchases, please contact StateFoodSafety.com customer service line at (801) 494-1416.
Taney County Health Department is excited to offer this alternative to a “sit down class”. The ability to take this class at any time is a definite advantage to the employees.
Effective October 1, 2010 classes will continue to be held at both locations for individuals who prefer this setting as follows:
- The second Wednesday of each month at the Forsyth location from 9:00 am to noon.
- The fourth Wednesday of each month at the Branson locations from 9:00 am to noon.
If you would like to register for one of the above listed classes, please contact the Environmental Section of the Taney County Health Department at (417) 335 - 4544, ext. 247.
